ONE WEEK IN THAILAND, PHUKET

Closing trip?
Someone ask me that. Hmmmm.. I wonder where I should go for my closing trip this year?

I think I'm not goin anywhere. That was my first thought.
But of course "racun trip" scattered.
One of them came from my high school friend, she asked me to go to the north part of Southeast Asia. And unexpectedly, Air Asia held a promo One dollar to various destinations in the Southeast Asia regionWe chose Thailand, with route Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur-Phuket-Bangkok-Jakarta.

We had 5 hours in Kuala Lumpur before Phuket. You can find my 2nd visit in KL here.
Phuket Airport

Had night flight to Phuket, I've been anxious for some reason, the transportation and the location of our guest house. But I think I was anxious for nothing. Phuket airport is not that scary as my imagination, small airport and too quiet. As soon as we out from arrival gate, there are some taxi and tour agent counters. We chose one and get 800 bath for Limousine taxi. It was true that the taxi driver would stop at a travel agent and offered us a variety of tour packages. If you dont need it, just reject it politely.

Our guest house located in Patong area. We stayed in The Guest House for 3D3N, I highly recommended this guest house to you all. It took one hour from airport to guest house.

In the next morning, we made an appointment with Phuket's friend, P'cam. She promised to give us  a tour around phuket town. Before it, we had breakfast in Myanmar canteen and rent a motorbike.

Myanmar's fried rice

On our way to Phuket town, we explored Patong Beach area. The first time I saw it I was remember KutaBeach, Bali. It has the same feeling. Full of tourists sunbathing and doing water sports.

Patong Beach

We rode for 30 minutes to Phuket town, met P'cam and had lunch in Central Festival Mall. When visiting some place, it would be wasted if we are not trying the culinary. That's why I tried Pad Thai, the famous street food that content some vegetables like bean sprouts, garlic chives, coriander leaves, and pickled radishes. It is made with soaked dried rice noodles, which are stir-fried with eggs and chopped firm tofu, and flavored with peanut sauce, and served with lime slice. The peanut sauce remind me of lotek, traditional food from Indonesia. I like it.

Wat Chalong was our next destination after lunch, the most beautiful Buddha temples in Phuket. We did various things there, got fortune telling, learn new culture and tradition. Such an interesting place.

Wat Chalong area

From Wat Chalong we were moving forward to Phuket Old town area but heavy rain suddenly pouring us, with a heavy heart we could just enjoy the view of old town from the car window. P'cam take us around Phuket Old town with her car, and when the rain stop, we immediately ran out to the souvenir store and took some photos.

We ended our day in phuket town with dinner Tom Yum, my favorite dish and the only dish that content seafood that I could eat. LOL, I was so happy can taste the origin Tom Yum. Thai food has similiar taste with Indonesian food, rich of rempah (seasoning). So I didn't have problem with Thai Food. I love Thai food.

We have to back to Patong and say goodbye to P'cam. Thankfully, we had fun day because of her. We arrived at hotel about 7.30 pm, take a bath in hotel and went to the next destination, Bangla Road, the famous walking street in Phuket.

Bangla Road

I was surprised when I was there. The bangla road known as their nightlife, but it was more than I expected before. The pole dancers from some pubs decorated along the way of Bangla Road. The magic show, break street dancers, 4D street games, and dont forget the ladyboys also participate the glamorous night in Bangla Road with their sexiness. Of course it was not free for taking picture with them, you have to pay based on service.

D-2 in Phuket, we focused to explore the Beaches and Big Buddha. We rode our motorbike around Phuket, from North to South.

Big Buddha area's view point

Big Buddha located on the top of hill. The path to get there is quite creepy, sharp turns, winding road and the edge of a cliff. Highly recommended only for who are experts in driving. And be carefull.
Rawai Beach
 Phromthep Cape

For me, Phromthep Cape is the most beautiful beach view point. It is also known as the best sunset spot in Phuket. But unfortunately we arrived too early, it was 3 pm. We changed plan to get sunset in Kata Beach, one lane direction back to Patong.

In the night, we were seeking our dinner and stop by in Malin Plaza. We passed this place several times but never once entered this place, it was because we doubt there are Halal food for us. But we were wrong, some stall sells halal food with cheap, tasty and big portion. We regret not stopping sooner. Sobs Sobs.

Malin Plaza

In the next morning was our last day in Phuket, We went around for the last time. Had instant breakfast but the taste doesn't suitable with our stomach. We endured a moment and had lunch in Malin Plaza (again, hehe).
